сваливается при аннотации реального нетлиста, на всех доступных версиях NCSIMaх и на разных платформах (включая рекомендованный RH EL3)
есть подозрение, что критическая цифра - 4Гб

Попробуйте 64bit версию - "ncsdfc -64bit", для 32bit 4Гб предел.

да вроде бы и запускается 64 бита (была установлена только х86_64)
и мне казалось, что ключ -64bit не имеет смысла,

но - попробую (повторяемость ошибки низкая - поэтому не так просто проверить)
